Lake Trout Fishing Trips

Flaming Gorge Reservoir is home to some of the largest fish in the west.  Lake Trout or Mackinaw as the are known, grow to 50 plus pounds.  There are all sorts of of way to fish for these massive Lake Trout

We enjoy chasing these giants in a number of ways.  

• Vertical Jigging
• Trolling
• Fly Fishing

We will follow the Lakers through out the water column as the temperature changes.  Depending on what depth they are holding at will dictate how we target them.                                                                                                         

Trolling and jigging are good most of the year.  We use the down riggers to keep those baits in zone as long as possible.  The high end electronics we have keeps us over the Lake Trout to jig all day . 

Fly Fishing typically is best when the water temps are cold on top.  That means the winter and spring are the best time to chase these giants on the fly.  January, February, March, April and early May will have the best chances to hook one of these beautiful Macks with the fly

Flaming Gorge  holds the state record Lake Trout for both Utah and Wyoming.   So come visit and take your turn at one of these long standing records.
